The Spanish military satellite SPAINSAT NG is now in space. Early this morning, SPAINSAT NG I successfully took off from Cape Canaveral on a mission that was carried out in conjunction with Space X.
ALTER has conducted destructive physical analysIs and specific tests to validate the technology, ensuring the quality and reliability of critical components. Additionally, it has managed the procurement of electronic components, as well as the associated testing and engineering.
The mission of the satellite is to ensure effective command and control during Armed Forces operations conducted beyond the line of sight across two-thirds of the Earth. To achieve this, it will establish communication capabilities in operational theatres where infrastructure is lacking, enabling seamless connectivity in challenging environments.
In addition, the satellite will provide enhanced satellite communication options that support operations on the move, offering greater capacity and improved security to meet the demands of modern warfare. By reinforcing the core battlespace network, it will unlock the full potential of net-centric warfare and operations, ensuring a more interconnected and responsive military force.
Furthermore, the satellite will incorporate advanced anti-jamming and anti-spoofing technologies, safeguarding communications against interference and deception. It will also be hardened to withstand high-altitude nuclear events, ensuring resilience and reliability in even the most extreme conditions.
The coverage will be an extensive global area ranging from the United States and South America, to the Middle East, including Africa and Europe, and reaching as far as Singapore in Asia.
