Japan has signed a Mutual Recognition Agreement (MRA) for telecommunications equipment with the United States, the European Union, the United Kingdom, and Singapore, which is currently in effect. To ensure the smooth operation of the certification system and promote its expanded use, MIC will invite relevant stakeholders from these countries to participate in discussions on international opportunities and challenges for Japanese manufacturers and regulators. The event will serve as a platform for exchanging needs, fostering commercial contacts, and strengthening cooperation with global industry players.
During the workshop, ALTER contributed with a session dedicated to the new cybersecurity regulations for radio equipment in Europe, which will become mandatory for CE Marking starting August 1, 2025. The presentation also covered the compliance methodology based on the new EN18031 standards, providing key insights for industry professionals navigating upcoming regulatory changes.
