EnVision Mission

ALTER will be EnVision's CPPA (Central Parts Procurement Agency). Our role will be to carry out engineering, procurement, and testing of all the electronics and technologies that are to be used by the companies responsible for the payload.

Envision, a groundbreaking mission led by the European Space Agency (ESA) in partnership with NASA, is poised to embark on an unprecedented journey to explore Venus, Earth's enigmatic neighbour. Envision represents a pivotal step in humanity's quest to understand the profound differences between Venus and Earth despite their similar beginnings.

Venus, often dubbed Earth's twin, presents a compelling puzzle for scientists.  Envision seeks to unlock the secrets of Venus' past and present, offering vital insights into the evolution of habitability in our solar system.

Envision aims to comprehensively study Venus from its inner core to its upper atmosphere, unraveling the intricate interplay between its various layers. Key objectives include investigating the evolution of Venus' surface and interior, assessing its geological and tectonic activity, and understanding the shaping of its atmosphere and climate by geological processes.

Scheduled for launch in the early 2030s from ESA's Spaceport in Kourou, French Guiana, Envision will embark on a 15-month journey to Venus. Upon arrival, the spacecraft will undertake a daring aerobraking maneuver through Venus' atmosphere before settling into a low quasi-polar orbit for scientific observations.
