ALTER supports Fundación Adecco in its mission to accelerate the workplace inclusion of people with disabilities

The company joins Fundación Adecco’s 2024 Disability Week, aiming to promote employment for people with disabilities through awareness campaigns and specialized training.
Additionally, ALTER supports the awareness campaign developed by Fundación Adecco as part of this initiative. Titled "Everything Seems Extraordinary", the campaign aims to highlight the biases faced by people with disabilities in daily life and the workplace, which often hinder their opportunities for inclusion.

On December 3, International Day of Persons with Disabilities, ALTER reinforces its social commitment by backing initiatives that promote workplace inclusion for a population segment exceeding 4 million people in Spain.

As part of this, the company has joined Fundación Adecco’s 2024 Disability Week, a platform that centers people with disabilities in the social dialogue through awareness and training actions. This is a critical challenge, considering that the employment rate for people with disabilities stands at 35.3%, meaning 64.7% are neither employed nor seeking work. Their unemployment rate is also disproportionately high, often reaching 80% in certain disability categories, such as mental disabilities, due to persisting prejudices and stereotypes in society and the workplace.

ALTER contributes to changing perspectives on disability

As part of the 2024 Disability Week, Fundación Adecco launched the awareness campaign "Everything Seems Extraordinary" to shed light on the uncomfortable realities faced by people with disabilities in professional settings.

The campaign features María Petit, a visually impaired communicator and ambassador for Fundación Adecco. It aims to normalize disabilities in the workplace and foster a mindset shift toward full inclusion.

The campaign video portrays a person with a disability being applauded upon arriving at their workplace and hearing stereotypical remarks such as "You’re a champion!" or "What an achievement!" However, upon sitting at their desk, they become just another worker, demonstrating their talent like any other team member. The video concludes with a powerful message:
"When no one expects anything of you, everything seems extraordinary. But when they trust in your talent, all labels disappear."
