Alter Technology, first Notified Body in Europe accredited to certify drones

Alter Technology will provide conformity according to Regulation 2019/945

Alter Technology has been accredited to perform conformity assessment on unmanned aircraft systems and on third-country operators of unmanned aircraft systems in compliance with Regulation (EU) 2019/945

By obtaining this accreditation, Alter Technology becomes the first Notified Body in Europe for Delegated Regulation 2019/945. This achievement is the result of a great effort and teamwork of a multidisciplinary group that has required the development of advanced flight test systems, new laboratory test methods and innovation in the verification processes of the essential requirements defined in the Regulation, which seek, above all, the safety of the drones to be placed on the European market.

Commission Delegated Regulation (EU) 2019/945 on unmanned aircraft systems and on operators of unmanned aircraft systems from third countries.

This Regulation lays down requirements for the design and manufacture of unmanned aircraft systems (UAS) intended to be operated following the operational rules and conditions defined in Implementing Regulation (EU) 2019/947 and of complementary remote identification devices. It also defines the types of UAS whose design, production and maintenance will be subject to certification, including conformity assessment for CE marking and class label. It also lays down rules on the placing on the market of UAS intended for use in the 'open' category, on remote identification accessories, and on their free movement within the European Union.
